relational & sexual
anxiety
Anxiety is a mood disorder that can affect men and women of all ages. Some people experience specific anxieties and some experience a general sense of anxiety.
Anxiety can take the best relationships that would have all "the feels" of safety, love, and coziness, and turn them into relationships that feel scary, confusing, and lonely. When anxiety affects our relationships, we can project our fears, doubts, and insecurities onto our partners, pushing them away and isolating ourselves. When that happens, both we and our partners end up feeling distant, stressed, and misunderstood.
Anxiety in the sexual realm can take the form of performance anxiety or anxiety about one's appearance, which can lead to:
-
Vaginal contracting which can cause pain
-
Inability to orgasm
-
Premature ejaculation
-
Unconsummated marriages
